Syn Free Food Treat

I've got out of the habit of having regular food treats. It's something I used to do years ago when I got to target weight. I'd follow plan weekdays and then eat what I wanted at the weekend, then the weekend crept into Friday, then Thursday....you get the idea? Diets I've followed before had always be so much more restrictive on what and how much you can eat that it's so easy to fall off the wagon as soon as you start eating normal food at normal quantities on the weekend.

As I've found Slimming World to be so much more like a healthy eating plan where you just tweak normal every day food, in normal portions I don't really feel like I need a treat - other than wine ;-) I'm probably happier with a Slimming World burger than a Whopper from Burger King these days! I also like how they don't ask you to up your Syns once at target, which would just encourage me to slip back into bad habits.

The easier a plan is to follow the easier it is to stick to and end up as a new normal . The more difficult and time consuming it is to follow the more likely I am to get fed up of it's restrictiveness and go off plan. It's easy to be more laid back around planning meals if all you have to have is a fridge full of normal food. As long as it's there you don't have to plan everything in advance, you can just open the fridge and decide on the spot. It's also nice and easy to have fall back food in the cupboard or freezer for a busy day. Pasta, couscous, tuna, beans, potatoes, Iceland ready meals...I could go on! So it's not the end of the world if you've not had time to spend all day planning your evening meal, then weighing and measuring it all out when you get in before you can even cook and eat it!

Whilst the food optimising plan might seem really complicated when you first read through it, as it begins to make sense and sink in it's surprisingly easy to follow. If you're struggling get help in group, or most Slimming Word groups have online Facebook pages only accessible by the members of their group where you can get help, support and advice.

I digress, now I just need to decide what to have for dinner and which pepper pot to use first!!

Slimming World Iceland Singapore Noodles

Making room in the freezer for a few bits coming tomorrow. The Slimming World Iceland ready meals are so huge they take up a lot of room! Very impressed! This was really nice, quite spicy although I needed to add a bit of salt! Best of all completely FREE! Even ate the peas, and I don't like peas much!

Thai 7 Spice Tuna Sandwich and Salad

Love tuna! I buy the frozen tuna steaks in Iceland and bake them in the oven for about 20 minutes, then rest for 5 minutes or so. My husband also had tuna tonight with chips and garlic vegetables so I made a separate foil compartment for his as he doesn't do spicy! Mine were sprayed with frylight and covered with Schwartz Thai 7 spice, his were plain with spray oil.

Burger, Quark and Hi Fi Bar

Late in tonight so despite having shopping delivered yesterday and a fridge full of on plan food convenience won and I had a Slimming World Iceland Thai Chicken burger with tomato and rocket. Then my favourite Tesco Quark with a Cadburys Bournville flavoured chocolate HiLights for 2 Syns, with blueberries and grapes. Then couldn't resist a new Slimming World Lemon Merengue Hi Fi bar! These are as good as I'd hoped, which means I'll just buy them as a treat even though they're limited edition and so probably won't be round for long!

Slimming World / Iceland Thai Chicken Burgers

Much much more impressed with the Thai burgers than this mornings sausages! Really nice flavour, not too spicy and delicious! With salad and cauliflower couscous.

Slimming World/Iceland Mediterranean Sausages

Not massively impressed with these to be honest! Very garlicky and could do with being a bit more tomatoey! The Heck chicken sausages are nicer although smaller and 1/2 Syn each!

Dinner

New Slimming World Iceland quarter pounder burgers with mayonnaise, Laughing Cow Light blue cheese and BBQ sauce! Salad and baby jacket potatoes! The burgers were lovely, not as good as kangaroo but still nice and something we would all eat - husband and son won't touch the "bouncing roo burgers" ! Should have just had the one really as I can barely move 😝

Probably over syns today oops! Had 2 x tassimo lattes at 12 syns, the cheese was 1.5 syns and probably 3 syns of mayonnaise!

I bought some Tesco quark today, which is the best! Also got some blueberries, strawberries and grapes to go with it for pudding and usually add a Bournville Hi-Lights hot chocolate sachet to the quark for 2 syns. Don't think I've got room for it tonight so will have that tomorrow instead!

Body Pump was fab but I'll feel that tomorrow or Friday! The instructor is great really enthusiastic and fun and chatty all the way through, makes the class a good laugh as well as a brilliant workout.

Slimming World new BBQ range at Iceland

Just been down to Iceland to grab some of the new BBQ range and was very glad to see they were well stocked up! Last launch for the ready meals they sold out really quickly, everywhere apparently not just at my local Iceland.

Now my only problem is whether to go beef burgers or Thai burgers for dinner later!?!?!

ps I also really love Iceland Kangaroo burgers at 1 Syn each, they are delicious! More on them another time!

I'm about to go and get ready for Body Pump not been for a couple of weeks so this could be painful!

Before I do I'm adding a few links to Instagram accounts I find inspiring!

Give them a follow if you're on Instagram, well worth it!
